Heather & Andrew

I recently met Heather & Andrew in Headingly, Leeds to discuss the finer details of their wedding in June and to photograph their 'Signature Print'. They are to marry at St Michaels Church in Headingly but after the ceremony we are going to have a walk round Kirkstall Abbey and capture some wedding photographs with a difference.

Their reception venue is the Esporta, Cookridge Hall Country Club, Leeds

Thursday 5 June 2008

Helen & Danny are Teachers who are to marry this August, that's if they can stop laughing. We got together recently to photograph their 'Signature Print' and they just couldn't stop. Both had just recently returned from their Stag and Hen bashes!! Danny was suffering quite badly but got no sympathy!!!!!!

Their ceremony will take place at the Moorland Lodge Country Hotel, Scammonden, which is located officially in the middle of the moors (only kidding).

Their evening reception will be held at the Old Golf House Hotel in Outlane and we're all looking forward to a scorching hot day.

The area is gorgeous moorland and we're hoping to capture some dramatic landscape photographs to grace their album.

Claire & Gary

Claire & Gary are just about ready for their wedding this June. They have chosen Bagden Hall, Scissett as their venue. I met Claire at Emma & Alan's wedding last year. She saw the evening slideshow that I put together at their 'night do' and contacted me shortly afterwards.

This photograph is one that they have chosen for their 'Signature Print'.

I can't believe how quick it seems to have come round. I'm really looking forward to photographing the wedding as I know quite a few of their friends. I do hope that they are on their best behaviour and won't give me too hard a time!!!!!

They brought the beautiful Taylor with them, who assisted me while they had their photograph taken. I just had to include a quick snap of her.

I told you she was beautiful, I'm hoping that she helps me during the wedding day!!! See you soon!

Lindsay & Anthony

On Saturday Lindsay and Anthony came to visit me from their home in Oxford. They are to be married in May this year at Ledsham Church and will be holding their reception at the beautiful Oulton Hall, Leeds.

They booked me over the internet having found my details on the BIPP site when looking for a qualified photographer.

The purpose of their visit was to capture a shot for their 'Signature Print.' We spent a few minutes photographing in my gardens until we all decided on the above image, which I think was a great choice.

This exercise also helps couples get used to me with a camera and also helps me get to know them a little better.

Lindsay and Anthony have chosen a metallic Graphi Studio album, which is a stunning choice. By choosing this album it affords them of having smaller replicas which they are to use as parents books.

May I take this opportunity to say thank you for choosing Di Vinci Photography and I look forward to seeing you on your big day.

Dan & Sal's Wedding Slideshow

Congratulations to Dan & Sal who were married at Cannon Hall on Saturday. What a fantastic day! Your guests were brilliant for putting up with the biting, cold weather. They helped capture some timeless images that I know you and your family will cherish for ever.

I don't think I've seen as many tears shed at one of my weddings and especially by the men. However, to be fair, the cold wind and snowy conditions played a huge part!!!!!!!

This is the slideshow that was projected during the evening reception that added to the tears.

Thanks guys for choosing Di Vinci Photography for your wedding, it was my absolute pleasure working with you.

Great Quotes

Every now and then something or someone strikes a chord with me. It or they usually make me stop and ponder. I came across this quote the other day and it shows that you aren't born successful. It also shows that there are different interpretations of how you become successful.

I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

Dan & Sal

On Sunday I went to Cannon Hall, Cawthorne, Barnsley, South Yorkshire. This historic country house museum is set in 70 acres of parkland and is the venue for Dan & Sal's wedding next month. We were there to get a photograph for their 'Signature Print' and took advantage of a little photography practice before the big day. Dan who is a natural in front of the camera was definately 'out done' by his beautiful fiancée Sal.

We then headed off to The Bluebell Inn to have a look round at their reception venue. I couldn't work out who was the most excited. That's not exactly true, Sal won by a mile!!!!

They both chose this shot for their 'Signature Print'.

Thanks guys and see you soon.

Claire & Gavin are to be married next month. We decided to meet up at Stirk House, Gisburn, which is the venue for their reception. After a little coaxing, Claire and I managed to get Gavin to smile. I knew he had one in there somewhere.

Gavin is also a wedding photographer, so a little bit of added pressure!!!!!

See you soon guys :)

Fliss & Mike's Wedding

I had the great pleasure of assisting another fellow photographer from Norfolk. Duncan Kerridge is one of my favourite wedding photographers and he was shooting the wedding of Fliss and Mike at the Pennine Manor Hotel. Mike and Fliss live and work in Dubai but for their wedding day they chose this hotel, located on the edge of the Pennines with panoramic views over the Yorkshire countryside.

Duncan's passion for wedding photography is demonstrated best by looking at his images. Every one of them has something to say.

Congratulations to Mike and Fliss.

Stacey & Alan' Wedding

I worked with my friend Tim Teasdale yesterday, covering the wedding of Stacey and Alan at Heath Cottage. There was a lot of emotion and tears and that was just the men!!! Just look at the proud father.

Congratulations to the both of you from myself and Tim.

I received two Merit Certificates and a Highly Commended certificate for the below images.

Suzanne's Portrait Session

This is one of my favourite portraits. I was commissioned to take it for Suzanne. I don't take that many but this one was well worth the effort.

The Wedding of Emma & Alan

The wedding of Emma & Alan took place on the 4th May 2007 at Nostell Priory just outside Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The weather was a little chilly but that didn't stop a great day from taking place.

I had my very good friend and fellow photographer Tim Teasdale with me for the day. It was a very early start and a very late finish which ended when the limousine left for the airport and I took Judith and Dave the bride's parents safely home.

Regional BIPP competition

Last night the BIPP (British Institute of Professional Photography) held their annual, regional competition which is open to all of its members. I decided to enter some images and with the help of two fellow wedding photographers and good friends Jon & Marsha from Harrogate we printed and mounted five images. The procedure is a time consuming one and I want to thank Jon and Marsha for their time and skill. THANK YOU.

I was lucky enough to win three merits in the categories of Avant Garde Weddings, Studio Portraits, and 'Fashion'.

A very special thank you to Lyndsey, Maria and Claire
